I chose this photo as we are going to be talking about branding. I really like the concept of photo number 2, as it is part of a series, recruiting for apple. I love the colors, and how bold and crisp it is, and its ability to draw you in. Also makes you imagine your career with apple. Very well thought out and well done.

Here is my Final Draft for Project 1. I did take into consideration about changing the font for the “Only on Turner Classic Movies” but in the end, I did not want to clutter the piece with too many different fonts, and the ones that I am using didn’t seem to work.

This picture was one that absolutely stood out to me. I love how although simplistic in the design, it is complex in what it creates. The use of circles to create a blurred image of a women is extremely creative and well thought out. This to me calls to be an Award Winning Graphic Design example.

Line Drawing!! I use Adobe Illustrator in order to create this. I used an abstract though process in that I wanted something that didnt quite work together. I used different types of lines and different shades and thicknesses.

Social Media Portfolio:

Since we have been sharing portfolios, we haven’t really dug into what we are here for. Social Media. I was really stoked to find a portfolio, designated just for Social Media and what this company could do for your brand. This is something that I could definitely see myself engaging in, and ultimately making a profit in.

I like how this site shows examples of what they do, giving their viewers an opportunity to imagine their brand, with this case, in a facebook timeline format. What I did not like, is that they only showed examples of facebook, they don’t really give examples of any other type of social media outlet. Makes them very 1 dimensional.

Really enjoy the clean look, and how maneuverable it is. I find that this portfolio is extremely professional, however a bit wordy. I enjoy his unique style, and bold use of colors in his actual work.

Mahalo.com to me is much more efficient and seems to be much more cohesive than wikipedia. I feel like with Mahalo, I can actually navigate the site, and “learn” something new, which to me is a great “waste of time”!

I really dig the fact that you can gain access to tons of free and paid apps, and instructional videos. One that I will definitely be checking out is Guitar 101. I have always wanted to learn how to play, and I know that this will not hurt me with the ladies!!

Anyhow, the next time you find yourself aimlessly wandering the internet, try out Mahalo.com. You might just learn a thing or two!!

I have searched for different apps for twitter, and came across one that I like above all the rest. It’s called Tweetcaster! I have used its cousin Friendcaster before, which is a facebook alternative, but I like Tweetcaster even more.

Tweetcaster provides a much more interactive UI, and is much more stylish than the native twitter app. Tweetcaster is a mobile app, and not one that can be used in a standard browser, but it seems to me that most people use twitter on the go anyway.

The reason that I use this app over the native twitter client is because, it offers everything that twitter offers plus; it offers the ability to create lists, more streamline widgets, better notifications, and allows for color-coding tweets.
